Tricia’s background includes 31 years of nursing experience in the field of mental health with adults of all ages in hospital and community settings including work as a nurse educator at University of British Columbia and Langara College. In 2019, Tricia finished training in counselling psychology, developing skills in many areas of therapy including a ten-month practicum in addiction recovery that involved individual and group counselling. Tricia has experience working with people affected by anxiety and mood disorders, dementias, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple System Atrophy, motor neuron diseases, head injuries, impulse control disorders, and addictions. Tricia also offers specialized counselling for caregivers and family members who often experience intense stress but lack support. As a registered clinical counsellor, Tricia chooses approaches to therapy that are tailored to the needs of her clients, drawing on many psychological schools of thought as well as theories about wholistic health.
