MScPT-University of British Columbia

Carlita completed her Master of Physical therapy from the University of British Columbia in 2017. Prior to this she completed her Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 2015.

Carlita began her physiotherapy career in the public health care system where she gained experience in a variety of clinical areas including: acute neurology, acute medicine, palliative care, in-patient orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal outpatients.

It was while working in the hospital that Carlita developed a special interest in neurological conditions. She has previously worked in inpatient neurological rehab where she treated a variety of neurological conditions, with a focus on post stroke and spinal cord injury rehab. Carlita also has extensive experience treating patients with complex chronic pain, and complex regional pain syndrome. In addition to her clinical experience with neurological conditions, Carlita has taken further education in yoga therapy, persistent pain management, trauma informed care, manual therapy and iFES.

Carlita believes one of the best treatment tools is movement and focuses rehab on functional based exercises and hands on facilitation to achieve client centred goals.

When Carlita is not at the clinic, you can find her playing on the soccer field, camping, hiking, or crafting at home.
