Franziska obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the Fresenius University of applied sciences in Munich (Germany). In January 2016 she moved to Vancouver and has been with the Neuromotion Physiotherapy team as a PTA since July. She is now in the process to become a registered Physiotherapist in Canada.
Coming from an athletic background, Franziska has always been fascinated with the human body and the physical and psychological benefits of movement. She enjoys the interaction with clients and likes to see them improving their well-being and participation in everyday life.
Post-graduation Franziska has furthered her education mostly through orthopaedic courses and became a sports therapist in 2009. After her grandmother developed a severe neurological condition, she decided to specialize in neurological physiotherapy. She became a Bobath therapist in 2011. In the meantime, Franziska realized that both, the sports therapeutic and neurological background, provide a perfect combination to maximize the functional recovery and physical fitness of individuals with neurological conditions. Therefore, she is interested in taking further training in both neuro and orthopaedics.
In the Neuromotion clinic in Surrey Franziska provides besides her duties as a PTA exercise class for individuals with balance problems and decreased cardio-respiratory fitness due to a neurological diagnosis.
In her space time, Franziska enjoys running and playing beach volleyball as well as being active with the outdoors hiking, snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
