Effects of FES treatment on moderate to severe TBI

Short study summary:

The effects of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) on moderate to severe Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) are not studied enough. There is still a gap in knowledge on FES and TBI. Neuromotion intends to bridge that gap with this study. This project will help determine the most effective FES treatment plan for people living with moderate to severe TBI. Within the study, each participant will go through physical assessments and FES leg-cycling training over a period of 12 weeks.

Study requirements

  • Individuals with moderate to severe TBI
  • Reliable communication ability (verbal or non-verbal)
  • Individuals with difficulty walking or cannot walk
  • Adult individuals (>18 years of age)
